¡I am Ginna Junca!

My name is Ginna Junca. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and I have lived in the United States for 25 years!

I received my degree in Special Education in 2014 and my Master’s in Bilingual Elementary Education in 2021, both from Georgia State University. I have worked for 10 years with children aged 3 to 5 in various settings and locations. I have worked in public schools, helped conduct studies for the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, I’ve been a tutor both in-person and online, and have worked as a preschool teacher for special needs children for over 7 years in the state of Georgia. This year, I also received my certification as a Bilingual Interpreter for Special Education from the University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), and I hope to assist many Spanish-speaking families in their meetings with teachers and administrators during their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings.

Besides work, I am a mother of two young adults who are beautifully neurodivergent and highly intelligent! I love spending time with them, visiting new restaurants, and playing with my dog, Cairo, a labradoodle whom I adore and treat like my baby! I also love music and dancing; as a good Colombian, I prefer salsa, but I enjoy all kinds of music.

I am very excited to be able to help your family through my services. It is an honor to support you, provide tools to improve communication, behavior, and independence during this critical age for your child’s development. It is also very important to me to help your family enjoy unforgettable moments together with less stress and frustration by teaching simple exercises beneficial for everyone. As a special education teacher, I understand the importance of working at home with children to reinforce the knowledge and skills learned during the school year. So, working with them for at least one hour a day will maintain stability in their routines and greatly benefit family unity.
